The National Addiction Memorial honors the loved ones we’ve lost.

My brother, Joe, was a very smart, handsome, and funny man. He loved his family, and was especially loved by his nieces and nephew. I learned that he helped many addicts in their recovery along the way, and was admired by many for his wisdom and wit.

I miss his sense of humor and the way he was with my children. I am terrified I will forget the sound of his voice and the feel of his hug.

I don't think he would like to be remembered in a sappy way. He wasn't a mushy person. I think he would like people to understand the effects of addiction, and that he tried to impact those he met in a positive way and help people through their struggles whenever he could.

Danielle was a free bird who loved life at its fullest! She was a wild card and a soul with a heart of gold! She is lived in through her son Landyn. Beth we love you and miss you so much. We will forever carry you with us

I miss her voice. I miss the warmth of her hug and the rasp in her voice. I miss her sisterly advice and her amazing smell. I miss the small things

My daughter was bright, beautiful with a spit fire personality. She was also so kind and humble to anyone she ever met. Would give the shirt off her back to those who needed. Unfortunately she didn't think much of herself personally.

I miss her always having to have the last word no matter. She thought she was the parent since she was a bahy. She did things her way period.

Everything... Her whole existence.

As a great mother, daughter, sister and friend. She wanted to fix the world for everyone around her to live happy and in peace.

His smile, ability to make others laugh, his kindness and always willing to help others and so many other memories

She was an amazing soul that struggled with mental illness and addiction. She fought so hard to be loved even though everyone loved her.

Her laugh. The way she would make me laugh.

Her conversation. She opened me up to thinking outside of what is the “America Dream.” That Americans struggle and starve everyday and we do nothing. Addiction, mental illness. We want cars, houses, and money. We forgot what life is really about, taking care of each other.

As a hippy, loving, free spirit. Always ready for the next adventure.

Matt was a gregarious man who would love to hang out with family and friends. He had many friends and enjoyed many activities.
He loved the outdoors and attempted to kick his drug habit “organically” as he said in the boundary waters area.

Matt was intellectual and not afraid to challenge others during conversation. But mostly he was playful and could always be counted on for a good laugh.

Matt will be missed for his companionship and his larger than life presence at get togethers.

Matt would like to be remembered as a charming, helpful, smart, funny guy.

My Dad was a very giving and loving person. He had some mental health issues and used on and off for years starting at age 12. He was sober for 16 years in the middle of being 12 to 52. He was the least judgemental person I've ever met.

My favorite memory was when he would call me and sing to me on every birthday

I miss how well he understood me and always mad me feel better.

They would like to be remembered as always making people laugh and being a loyal person.

Lauren was a very loyal person. She spent most of her days doing for others. She had very many talents. She could shoot bow & arrows better then anyone I know. She had a outstanding love for pets especially her cat buddy.

Her laugh. Her smile. Our inside jokes. Driving around listening to no scrubs by tlc. Eating brayz at 4am after leaving after hours.
Most importantly the love she had for me! She was the only one who had in back in any and every thing. Anytime I needed her she was there with out hesitation. I really wish the world gave her more love & acceptance.

As the goofy loving person she was

Michael was such a loving, caring person. He had demons just like everyone does. He tried so hard to fight those demons and lost the battle after being provided with Carfentanil laced methamphetamine.

My brother was my first best friend and first enemy growing up. There was never a day that went by in all of our 31 years together, that no matter what, we always ended a conversation or visit with "I love you"

I will miss his kindness, his respect for others, and his ability to make everything feel better.

I want my brother to be remembered as tbe genuine person he was, not the addict that controlled him.

Shaine had a big heart if he could help someone he would. He was a wonderful father and husband. He was always all about his family.

My favorite memory would have to be the day we had all our kids. He was there every minute with us. Also the day we got married cause he set that up. He surprised me with us getting married on the day of our 12 year anniversary. He set everything up with out me knowing and he did an amazing job

I'll miss his seriously contagious laugh, his sense of humor, his smile, his big blue eyes, the way he always took care of us.

As the loving father and grandfather that he always has been. As the person that had a heart of gold that would always help anybody in need.

Michael we all miss ypu so very much. Please watch over dad for us and I will do the rest. Love, your big sister...

Alex was an easy going and beautiful soul. She was an absolute joy to be around and never once failed to make the ones around her laugh until their stomach hurt. She had bright, beautiful eyes and an ear to ear smile that could light up the room.

My favorite memory with Alex is the countless days spent with her in all our years together doing nothing but making each other laugh.

What I miss most about Alex can't be summed up because I miss every little thing.

I think she would like to be remembered by everyone just looking back at all the wonderfully hilarious times spent with her. The times with genuine smiles and deep belly laughs.

He was my younger brother always had your back. Always tried to make you laugh. He wanted a better life but couldn't fight his demons. He will always be missed and loved.

The day my oldest was born. He was right there next to me trying to make laugh though the pain. He only left because he had to, when they took me for a c-section.

I miss being able to call you when the kids do or say something silly. Or the long talks about nothing. Sometimes things happen and I'm like omg I need to call Jer, but I can't thats when it really hits me your gone and I'll never hear your voice again.

As a person who always wanted to do/ be better.

So many...I only had him for 26yrs...his birthday was St Patrick's Day...he had the best sense of humor. He could make you laugh, even when you were mad at him. 💔

How he would always ask me for advice. Even if he didn't follow it.
