Jamie was shot and robbed when he was 16. After being in the hospital for a month he came home addicted to drugs. He struggled with his addiction the rest of his life. He was a loving giving person and everyone that knew him loved him

The way he could look at me with love in his eyes

Everything, his beautiful smile. The cute little jump in his walk.

Jamie would do anything for anyone. He had a huge heart. He was so loved by so many people. One of his friends told me he made every friend feel like his best friend.

Wm. "Taylor" Rhodes Jr.

Age 20
My Beautiful Boy
Age 20
20

Taylor was a light in this world. He was a funny, athletic, handsome, smart, dog-loving, little-kid loving, beautiful boy. A part of my heart now lives in heaven and I will fight every day for those who battle this disease.

How do you pick your favorite memory of your child? There are so many that make up the life that we had. The birthdays, the Christmas', vacations, graduations and all the little small moments in between that don't seem so small anymore. One of my proudest moments was when he was in an inpatient treatment program in Florida. A white supremacist was in his tx group. He targeted one of Taylor's friends. Taylor defended his friend and ended up in a fight. It is never wrong to do the right thing.

I miss the way he said, "mom". I miss the sound of his voice and his jokes at the dinner table. I will miss his terrible music, and picking up his clothes. I will miss watching him grow up, graduate from college, get married, have kids and make the world a better place. I miss this energy and his light. You could feel it when he was around. I miss the part of my heart and soul he took to heaven. There will never be a moment when I don't ache for his touch and to wrap my arms around him.

Taylor would want to be remembered for who he was, not defined by the disease he fought. He did not choose addiction, no one does. He did not want this fight and neither did we. He is remembered as loyal, loving, and the kind of person would give you the shirt off his back. He was outspoken, fierce, opinionated, hard headed and beautiful inside and out. He was a light in this world and all who loved him carry that light.

Kelli Diane Kirby

Age 31
Daughter, sister, loving, empathetic, strong
Age 31
31

Kelli was so loving and kind beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. She battled an eating disorder that took away all her gifts that embodied who she really was. She was voted Ms. KARNS HIGH SCHOOL

Her bravery, kindness, empathy, and how she felt others pain. One memory of her is when starting high school and it was cheerleading tryouts. It was harder to make as a freshman. After tryouts they would post who made the squad. She did and some of her other friends. They were all celebrating in a group hugging and then she took off running across the parking lot and got into a car far away from the group. I went to find her and she was in the car consoling and crying with friend who did not.

Her hugs, her sweet disposition , her wisdom and talents. Her empathy and how she made you feel so special by her gifts especially her cards she kept in a box that if someone needed cheering up had a birthday, or just a card that said God loves you.

Kind, loving spirit who loved God and wanted to tell others that Jesus loved them exactly where they were in life. She loved working with the elderly and was extremely sensitive to their needs. Loved her maternal Grandmother so much. She would want others who are suffering from an eating disorder to get help and reach out for that help.

Nina Louise LeMieux

Age 30
Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend
Age 30
30

As her mother, I have so many things that I could tell you about her. She was an empathetic, caring human...always looking out for the underdog. She was a loving mother to her 3 children. Talented singer, intelligent, funny and kind.

everything.....even the bad parts. Now that she is gone...every memory is my favorite memory.

We will miss her laughter, her tenacity, her willingness to help others at all costs. Her love of her children, family, music and comedy. I will miss the long phone conversations and passionate debates when she felt strongly about one topic or another...political, social injustices...etc. We will miss the way she had of bringing a room full of people "up" as soon as she walked through the door with her wit, her laughter. Music was huge for her...and lots of songs will bring that memory home.

We would like her to be remembered, not as the addict who overdosed....but as the wonderful, smart, talented loving mother, daughter, sister and friend that she was.

Gregory Lee Chapman III

Age 26
Beloved son, brother, and soldier
Age 26
26

Gregory was a phenomenal person. He was loving and cared about others more than himself. He was a defender of the underdog and never left a wounded soul behind. He was uniquely funny and good mannered. He was fiercely loyal to his family and friends.

A story a fellow soldier told me when they were in basic training. His friend was a heavy guy and struggled with running. The instructor told his friend he was going on a long run to whip him into shape. Gregory ran the entire thing with his friend and encouraged him not give up and that he could do it. That epitomized his character.

His smile. His humor. His ability to share his feeling with others. Gregory let you know you were loved. I miss what his future could have held. He was my only child so I miss being a mom.

Not how he died, but how he lived. That his life mattered and that people who were struggling would decide to get help because of what Gregory meant to them. That his death changed people’s lives for the better. Gregory’s life has done that and more.
