The National Addiction Memorial honors the loved ones we’ve lost.

Amanda struggled.with drugs for the past 5 years. I know she tried so hard to kick it. She has a 9 year old daughter who she loved more than anything. I wish i knew what I could have done for her. And I hope she knows how much I love her and miss her. And I hope that I can have the love and patience that she had with her daughter. They had the strongest mother/daughter bond that I have ever seen.

My Alyssa was not an addict. She was great Daughter, a great big Sister, a great friend to those who knew her. Always kind, lovable, smart, good hearted, with a giant laugh and a great smile. I miss her so much. Sadly, she made one wrong choice by snorting heroin laced with fentanyl and ended her life. Breaking our heart forever. Alyssa you’re so missed 💔✝️

Ryan had a heart of gold and was always trying to help others. He struggled with addiction and after a lengthy time in recovery, he relapsed and overdosed..💔 😓😓😓😓

Aaron came into this world premature. He was the most handsome, bouncy, beautiful baby boy. My little Man, as I would call him. Aaron played baseball and got good grades in school. He had a hard time accepting the split up between his dad and I.
He was a handsome young man. He worked in the concrete world, he was a finisher. He was an awesome cook. He had one younger brother, and he had one older sister and two younger sisters. He has two beautiful children; Dom and Chloe. His addiction probably started when he was about 16 or 17. He went to a couple of treatment centers; he tried to fight it, but the drug won. My son passed the day after Easter. My biggest regret is I was not home when he passed. I love my boy and I miss him so. Merry Christmas my forever 29 angel.

My daughter's struggles with addiction began at a very young age, which is why these demons would not let go. Her brain was controlled by this drug as I personally witnessed a sweet innocent girl turn into a raging monster when she was in desperate need of the drug. We spent endless trips to rehab only to return home and use again. These drug dealers were ruthless in their endeavors to keep her their customer. She would beg and plead with me (for help) in a moment she was herself and then the demon himself would capture her thoughts back to seeking the drug that would eventually take her body and soul from those who loved her dearly. 

My best friend died on the street in San Francisco. He tried so hard to stay clean but his poor body just gave out. 💔😞

He had been struggling for a long time. A Dallas fan. Loved his family and friends.

We miss you and each day that passes. Never gets easier, we just learn to adjust. To be able to hear your voice, have those conversations about life and what we're going through as individuals. To hear the knowledge you would give. I tell our children all the time, if I could bring you back I would, but we know you are where you wanted to be, with Mom. So we live knowing you're together again and watching over us each day. We will forever keep your memory alive Gwhoop. Continue to Fly High. We love you.

My husband had a huge heart and would do anything for anyone. Even when struggling with his addiction he would still do everything he could to make me feel loved. Evan after six years, he still looked at me like he did when we first started dating. He made me feel so special. I miss every little thing about him.

Joey was a very kindhearted person. People from all walks of life loved him. He didn't judge others and had a very forgiving soul. He battled with meth and went to prison in 2012. When he came home in 2013, he came home a changed man. He went to work on the oil rigs and was doing great. Joey wanted to smoke pot, but he couldn't due to testing, so he tried synthetic marijuana called "Klimaxx" and he became very addicted to it and tried and tried to quit. On a warm Sunday afternoon he lay dying in a field with police for over an hour waiting on EMS. He died six minutes after they put him in an ambulance for the 12 minute ride to the hospital. I told the officers with him that if my son had found them laying in a field he would have picked them up and carried them to the hospital. Joey had three children, only one of which was he the biological father. But to see him with them you would never know which one. His heart was true, pure, and honest. There were so many people who came to his service and the show of respect was overwhelming. He is so very missed by so many and especially his kids. He was my first born, my only son. He was my friend, my son, my rock, and a mother could not ask for more. He had his moments and his troubles but he was always Joey, and forever will we love and miss you so much son.

Michael Seth Wood "Woody" was born on October 24, 1995 and passed on November 29, 2019 at the young age of 24.

Seth worked as a glazier and loved everything about glass. When not working, he was a huge Jacksonville Jaguars fan.

Seth was loved by all for his outgoing personality and kind heart. He was a goofy, silly class clown and always knew what to say to make someone laugh no matter how they may be feeling. He pulled no punches, and didn't mind being that person to say something that shouldn't be said, but you couldn't help but laugh anyway.

He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, two sisters, and his best four-legged friend, Brick.

My sister Angela was a loving, caring young woman. Very beautiful and vibrant. She had a lot of living to do still. She was a daughter, sister, mother (very loving) to her daughter Jourdyn Leigh' Aja. She will always be very loved and missed. Never forgotten.

My brother was a caring, loving, non-judgmental person. He lost his life to a heroin overdose at 21. I miss him so much every day.

My son Andrew was only 23 when he went to heaven. My first born was a girl and there is 10 years between them. Right after Andy I thought it would take years again before I had any more children, but it wasn't. Right after I had Andy I had Brandon. My daughter is in a rehab right now, thank god. I always thought as many overdoses she had I knew it was going to kill her. I guess I can say I was prepared that he was going to die, I wasn't home when it happened. Our last words were I love you to one another and it hit me hard. He was just starting to dabble in heroin at the time we never heard about it being more fentanyl than heroin. Andy and I had a special relationship. We were raising his little girl together. He would hardly ever leave her and if he did it wasn't for long. He had a heart of gold. He was a wonderful son, brother, and father. I miss him so much it takes my breath. He will forever be missed and until my dying day I will see to it he will never be forgotten. I love you Andy.

Joshuwa is my only son, his sisters only brother. He was an accomplished artist who felt the worlds pain. He was kind and empathetic and his loss has left a terrible void in our lives.

My father suffered with mental health issues for so many years and found that self-medication was his only way to be soothed. He loved his children and wife so passionately. The years that he was sober he worked so hard to provide and give us everything he could possibly give us. After his last relapse, his body couldn’t take it anymore. He was only 47 years young and it was a devastating time for our family to see him go but I believe in my heart he is in a much healthier and peaceful place, where he is watching over us like he always did when he was here.

Steve was everybody's "go to" guy. He helped anyone he could with anything he could. I miss him so much. His smile, his laugh, everything about him. Things were not always wonderful, but to me he was everything. I know our daughter and especially our son, misses him too. Our son looked up to him and talked to him about everything.
I know life will never be the same again. But I also know we will be together again, someday. And I know he will be there, waiting on me to join him.
I love you, Steve. And I miss you so much....

Brandon was a "one of a kind" type of kid. He had this cool, kind, fun kinda vibe going on. Brandon was known best for his hugs, and he never left without a " love ya". He is so missed by all his family after God called him home at the age of 19. His love will always shine bright in our hearts.
