Public health has always been my career focus. Before Shatterproof, I worked at the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) where I led evaluation efforts for a national sexual violence prevention program.   Considering the growing addiction crisis, I was committed to identifying systems-level opportunities in behavioral health, especially addiction treatment policies, to drive sustainable and responsive improvement in this space. This commitment led to my work at Shatterproof.  

As the Vice President of Treatment Quality & Strategy, one of my main priorities is Treatment Atlas. I am responsible for the strategic direction of data collection and management for this innovative tool.  It is my vision to make Treatment Atlas the most comprehensive resource possible so that people are empowered to make the right treatment decisions for themselves. I’m excited about our upcoming efforts in 2023 and the growth we’re prioritizing in the next three to four to five years.  

Our redesigned Treatment Atlas website is more user-friendly and provides a better experience for people seeking treatment. A built-in assessment tool allows people to find treatment options based on their medical needs. Finding treatment that meets an individual’s needs is crucial.  Treatment Atlas not only helps people find care that is best for them but is also aligned with our National Principles of Care.  With the redesign of our website, you can easily filter search results by payment options accepted, as well as review detailed information about the facilities. People can also be matched with specific programs if they would like support with things like housing, employment, or childcare assistance. A summary of what each facility can offer is provided on the results page to assist people in deciding on a facility that works for them. Best of all, Treatment Atlas is a free resource for all people living in the United States.  

To transform addiction treatment, we also focus on involving treatment providers, states, and insurance companies in improving access to high-quality care. Using our Atlas data, these stakeholder groups are able to pursue innovations in the addiction treatment field. Many of them are deeply committed to doing so, and giving them the tools to make those changes further demonstrates our dedication to systems-level solutions with key players in the field.
