As part of our celebration of Mental Health Action Day, we reached out to our supporters to learn about the habits and routines they use to take care of their mental well-being.

We received some heartfelt and inspiring responses, and we are excited to share a few of them with you.

Ian Armony enjoys reading high fantasy books and working out at the gym. Meditation, particularly a technique called bhramari pranayama, has profoundly impacted his life. He values physical connection with communities, finding it essential for exchanging ideas and support.

Gayle Eaglewoman shared that working as a caregiver can be challenging, especially when saying goodbye to clients who go into long-term care or pass away.

To cope, she allows herself time to mourn, spends quality time with her granddaughters, takes walks, and journals her thoughts and feelings. She emphasizes focusing on the positives and choosing to laugh whenever possible.

Vicky gains joy from her pets and various arts and crafts. She finds the process of creation therapeutic and journals regularly to process her thoughts and feelings. She maintains her connections by meeting friends for coffee or hosting craft nights.

Lisa Osullivan loves taking long walks with her dogs and staying close to her children through frequent phone calls.

Lori Pagoaga finds joy in listening to music and talking with family, friends, and coworkers. She also benefits from a structured day and uses sticky notes to remind her of important tasks.

She stays connected by sending heart texts every morning to let her loved ones know she cares.

Nohelia enjoys watching Facebook reels, especially those featuring animals and babies, and values the time spent with her children and grandchildren, sharing both joy and trials.
