Award-winning actress, person living in recovery, and a powerful advocate for women's empowerment
Known for her 1978 breakout role in "Halloween," Jamie Lee Curtis is an internationally acclaimed actress and children’s book author.
Curtis is also famous for being a prolific activist for several causes, including the power of recovery from addiction.
In 1999, she attended her first recovery meeting and has maintained her sobriety ever since. Two years later, Curtis was featured on the cover of Redbook Magazine and went public with her story.
She served as the honorary chairperson for the Building Resilience for Young Children Dealing with Trauma program in Washington, D.C. and was given an award from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and National Endowment for the Arts for her work on behalf of children.
