Maureen Boyle, Ph.D., is the Chief Quality and Science Officer at the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) where she leads ASAM’s quality and science department, overseeing development of clinical guidelines and other tools to support effective implementation of evidence based practices in the addiction treatment system. She provides strategic oversight for the ASAM Criteria Suite of products including ASAM CONTINUUM, the ASAM Level of Care Certification Program, and the ASAM Criteria textbook. Dr. Boyle has over 20 years of experience in research, public health, and policy including leadership positions with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).  She holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the Washington University School of Medicine, and she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Allen Institute for Brain Science and a Science and Technology Policy Fellowship through the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
