Dr. Kim Cook was born and raised on the island of O‘ahu, and has dedicated a number of years to serving the veteran community.  She received her Master of Arts degree in 2006 and her Psy.D. degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University – Hawai’i in 2008 at the age of 25.  She joined U.S.VETS in 2009 as the facility’s Clinical Director.  In 2012, she was named as the site’s Executive Director, managing its facilities and programs which house nearly 850 veterans nightly.  As a strong advocate for quality holistic wellness treatment, Dr. Cook has led her team to developing innovative treatment modalities to the veterans and service members that they serve. 

Kim’s professional interests include leadership development and mentoring, suicide prevention and intervention, psychosocial factors impacting diverse and marginalized populations and indigenous healing and cultural practices.  In 2021, Dr. Cook transitioned in to her role as Vice President of Clinical Services for U.S.VETS where she trains, supervises, and mentors the organization’s Directors of Behavioral Health at its 11 locations across the United States. In addition to her professional commitments, she was also named a VIP member for the National Association for Professional Women (NAPW) and is a Gallup Certified Clifton Strengths Coach.
