Grant Boyken

Grant Boyken serves as the Senior Director of State Engagement for California. In this role, he is tasked with executing state-based strategies to ensure the successful launch and sustained implementation of Shatterproof Treatment Atlas in California. 

Grant has two decades of public policy experience in research, communications and stakeholder engagement, primarily on issues related to retirement and health policy and benefit programs. As a California Deputy State Treasurer, he led a coalition-building effort and feasibility study to establish a first-of-its-kind state-facilitated retirement savings program for workers who lack access to workplace savings plans. During his tenure as Public Affairs Executive Officer at the California State Teachers' Retirement System, he oversaw the government affairs, stakeholder relations and communications programs for the world's largest educator-only retirement system. 

Prior to joining Shatterproof, Grant served the organization as a volunteer ambassador. He also has experience as a part-time drug and alcohol counselor. 

Grant has a BS in psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and an MA in sociology from the University of California, Davis. He resides in Sacramento, California.
