Dr. Ajani Nimmagadda is a Medical Officer at Cigna. She leads Cigna’s Specialty Pharmacy and Pharmacy solutions and Site of care programs for Cigna Health Plan. She also serves as the senior Infectious Disease physician resource for the company. Dr. Nimmagadda has been with Cigna since 2005.
Prior to joining Cigna, Dr. Nimmagadda was in private practice with LA Physicians Medical Group and a clinical instructor at UCLA School of Medicine, Los Angeles. She worked at Tarzana Treatment Center for 10 years as a consultant to provide clinical care for HIV infected individuals and substance use.
Dr. Nimmagadda received her bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery at the Government General Hospital, Guntur, India, completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Grant Hospital of Chicago followed by clinical and research fellowship in infectious diseases at UCLA School of Medicine, Los Angeles. She is board certified in Infectious Diseases and is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. She also serves on the board for Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Care Foundation, a national organization dedicated to eliminating pediatric cancer and providing hope and support to those who are touched by it.
