Maritza Hiciano

Maritza Hiciano serves as Manager of Memorials and Constituent Stewardship at Shatterproof. In her role, she oversees online memorials, manages correspondence with families, and handles the donor acknowledgment process. Additionally, in honor and support of all peoples affected by addiction, she handles the outreach and strategic management of the National Addiction Memorial and Celebrate Recovery initiatives.

Maritza is an administrative professional with more than 10 years of successful work experience in the nonprofit and private sectors. Previous to Shatterproof, she worked with the New York City Mayor’s Public Engagement Unit, where she collaborated with elected officials in community outreach and advocated for the housing rights of individuals with disabilities and the elderly.

Maritza received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Queens College and earned a Masters of Arts in psychology of work and family from the CUNY Graduate Center.
