Jessalyn Kiesa is the Manager of Digital Engagement at the National Education Association where she is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and managing the overall digital strategy for the more than 3 million-member organization. Jess is responsible for managing, guiding and training digital team staff, and for developing best-in-class processes to collect data, derive insights and inform content strategy and digital infrastructure decisions.

Prior to joining NEA, Jess was a Vice President at Blue State Digital where she lead a team of account directors, managers and coordinators in the planning and execution of a portfolio of agency accounts in both the nonprofit and corporate sectors. Her experience is in developing digital platforms, fundraising campaigns and communication strategies, building communities and mobilizing them to act. 

Jess supported the first digital launch of Shatterproof and was instrumental in building the organization’s first email and social programs. Jess lost her brother to a heroin overdose in 2016 and remains committed to supporting Shatterproof to end the opioid epidemic and the pain this public health crisis causes families across the country.
